Economic Stimulus Programs at RRVCA
RRVCA has begun two federal stimulus grants with money distributed through the Department of Energy for weatherization services and the Office of Community Services for help in the areas of employment, education, income management, housing, emergency services, nutrition, self sufficiency and health care.
The weatherization services grant will last for three years and the community services grant will end on September 30, 2010. Income levels for all programs must be below 200% of federal guidelines (family of four = $44,100).
The programming is a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) created by President Obama and the United States Congress. The purpose is to help struggling families with a variety of programming focusing on finding or retaining employment and also to address emergency situations that they may be encountering in other areas such as feeding their family, receiving medical treatment and many other issues.
Anyone needing assistance should call the office at 746-5431 and inquire about the programs available.
